The Junior Section is a vibrant and important part of Lymm Golf Club and offers an introduction to the game for boys and girls of all ages. We provide a pathway for juniors to follow as they develop.
Our junior coaching programme is provided by PGA Professional Harry Shaw who runs group and individual lessons, please contact Harry directly to book.
Competitions that take account of age and ability are played throughout the year, typically on a Sunday but also some weekdays during the summer holidays.
Team matches include Golf Sixes, Junior Nines MDGA and Mid Cheshire Junior League, see below for more details.
Safety of our juniors is paramount, this is reflected in our Safeguarding Policy and Lymm Golf Club is a SafeGolf accredited club.

Come along and meet other junior golfers, learn about the rules and etiquette of golf as well as trying out some competitive golf:-
Competitions are usually followed by refreshments and a prize-giving presentation.
During the winter months we run the "Junior WInter Series" which is a 9 hole competition each month from November to March. These are team competitions and include various formats to mix things up a bit.
For the younger players who are 'course ready' we run 6 hole scrambles, these team events are a fun way to introduce players to competitions. Players must have an adult with them for these.
This is a team competition competing in a league with other local clubs. The format is 6 players, 6 holes pairs scramble and we play twice at each of the other clubs in our league. Holes are shortened to around 150 yards and the lowest handicap at the start of the season should be no less than 37 (you don't need a handicap as they are not used!). For more information about Golf Sixes go to the Golf Foundation page.
Progression from sixes to nines builds on a simiar format but introduces handicaps (WHI or local handicap can be used). It's over 9 holes and is in a league with Styal, Mottram and Ringway golf clubs. Handicap range is 24-54 playing of red tees.
MCJL has been running for 30 years and is a team event for clubs across the region. We compete in a league with the winners taking part in a play-off. Teams of 5 play with the best 3 from 5 scores counting. Each club hosts a match and usually the legues consist of 5 or 6 clubs. Only players with a WHI can play in these matches.
