News article draft

Welcome to a bright, mild, and relatively sunny start to 2023. Wishing you all a very enjoyable, healthy and a successful year.

The L.G.C. lottery draw for December took place yesterday (Thursday 05 January) - congratulations to the winners (read more here) and a big thank you as always to Gaye Fletcher who manages the lottery on our behalf.

Unfortunately, with effect from Monday 16th January there will be a price increase of all food and beverage items. Everyone will be aware of the current economic situation and the inflationary impact there is across all products and services. We have absorbed all cost increases imposed on the club to date, but we need to increase our selling prices to recover some of the increased costs. I am sure you will be understanding regarding this decision, and we thank you for your continued support.

On behalf of Steve and Fizz - Thanks to all members who supported the "˜Pro-Shop Xmas Draw' - A full list of prize winners may be found here.

Hopefully you will have seen the message from our Lady Vice-Captain, Jules Carmichael-Spencer and the collection of shoes and clothing for those suffering greatly at this time, e.g., homeless gentlemen. If anyone does have any items of clothing that are to be discarded, please bring them down and Jules will be collecting them up on Monday. Many thanks to the members that have made donations, your generosity will be very welcome.

Thanks again to the members today for your great care, understanding and patience during service today, whilst the clubhouse was extremely busy with the private function.

The competitions over the weekend are scheduled for 13 holes, please check course status daily as posted on the web site or via the "˜App'.

There are some local road closures due to take place soon which may impact on members and routes taken to and from the golf club - the attached has the details - hopefully you are able to make sense of it and it helps you in planning your journey to and from the golf club.

Enjoy the weekend, play safe and stay safe.

Yours in Golf

Keith
